Friends of the Children is a nonprofit group founded by 10 local women to create awareness and raise money for the Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital and the Charles P. Darby Children's Research Institute.
The Junior Banana is open to kids and teens 18 and younger with a wide range of tennis abilities. The goal was to raise $10,000 this year for the Institute, and with all the enthusiastic support of local kids, the group raised over $16,000! Look for this tournament again next year in May.
