Putting Under Pressure
Constributed by Doug Weaver, Director of Golf Instruction

Stroke with your shoulders and feel with your hands. Many of the top PGA pros control their putting strokes with this effective method. Using your shoulders, or big muscles, allows your little muscles, or your hands, to stay soft. The result is a naturally smooth, unhurried and consistent putt. It's easy to work against yourself by guiding the club instead of letting it do the work for you. The putter was designed in perfect balance to fall squarely in impact position making contact with the ball.

ON THE COURSE:
Golf at Palmetto Dunes
Great NCAA Moments at Palmetto Dunes
Contributed by Clark Sinclair, Head Professional, Arthur Hills Golf Course

On the final day of the 2000 NCAA tournament, Erik Compton, College Player of the year, Bryce Molder and Anders Hanson, had their most unbelievable shots of the day, all on the Arthur Hill's Hole 9. Leading by two shots, Anders hit his drive up over the hill and to the right of the cart path. If he had any hope of landing on the green, he had to keep it under one of the small trees in his direct path. Using a 3 wood, he hit a rocket that faded way over the water, about 270 yards, landing smoothly just left of the green and the far left pin placement. All three birdied the hole for an unforgettable finish!

2009 Course of the yearThe Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association named the Arthur Hills course the 2009 Course of the Year, putting the course in the running against other top venues across the Palmetto State. Read more about this award here.

THE RIGHT STUFF:
Power Balls
Power Balls
Contributed by Brad Marra, Director of Golf

Never underestimate the power of the perfect ball! It could make all the difference in your game! So, if you're ready for action, try Bridgestone's Tour B330 golf balls. The feedback on these impressive balls has been pretty exciting. This new golf ball packs quite a punch and is not for the fickle golfer. What makes these balls different? Explosive velocity, reduced spin and a Urethane Cover with Seamless 330 dimple design for pinpoint accuracy. The target audience is the above-average player with varying swing speeds. What's most interesting is this new delight is being compared to Titleist's Pro V1, currently considered the caviar of golf balls!
