Bike Rentals
Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort and the surrounding area of Hilton Head Island offer more than 50 miles of paved bike paths ideal for exploring. Guests may rent a bicycle at Hilton Head Outfitters to explore the island or try beach cycling along the beach. A special passageway for bicyclists and pedestrians allows safe passage to Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina without having to cross Hwy. 278.
The streets of Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort are ideal for biking. Traffic is light, motorists are bike-friendly and the semi-tropical climate makes taking a bike ride a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Stop at Hilton Head Outfitters to select a bike tailor-made for the type of riding you intend to do. Outfitters has mountain bikes, beach bikes, tandem bikes, kiddie carts, baby seats and more.

26" Adult Beach Cruiser
26-inch adult beach cruisers are designed for adults 5 feet and taller. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use on the beach or bike paths. Child seats accommodate children up to 35 pounds. These are available only on our adult unisex bikes. |

24" Youth Beach Cruiser
24-inch youth beach cruisers are designed for youth and young adults 4.5 - 5.5 feet tall. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use on the beach or bike paths. |

20" Kid's Beach Cruiser
20-inch kid's beach cruisers are designed for children ages 8 - 12 and 4 - 5 feet tall. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use on the beach or bike paths. |

16" Kid's Beach Cruiser
16-inch kid's beach cruisers are available with or without training wheels and are designed for children ages 4 - 8 and 3 - 4 feet tall. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use on the beach or bike paths. |

Bike with Child Seat
Our standard 26” adult bikes are fitted with a child seat that is secured tightly and mounted over the rear wheel. This option is perfect for a family with small children who wish to include everyone on a biking adventure. The child seat accommodates children from 1 ½ years of age or up to 40 lbs. |

Kiddie Carts
Kiddie Carts can hold one or two children (weight limit is 85 pounds). These are available for adult beach cruisers. Bikes must be rented separately. If you have your own bike, you must bring it to the shop to have the cart attached properly. |

Tag-a-longs
Tag-a-longs are for children ages 4 - 8 (weight limit is 75 pounds). These are available on adult beach cruisers. Bikes must be rented separately. If you want to use your own bike, you must bring it to the shop to see if our Tag-a-long will fit on your bike. |

Adult Tandems
Adult tandems require at least one adult over the age of 25. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use onthe beach or bike paths. |

Adult 3-Wheelers
Adult 3-wheelers are for adults only. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use on the bike paths. They are not allowed to be ridden on the beach. |

Comfort Bikes
Comfort bikes come in three sizes - small, medium and large. They have seven gears and hand brakes. They are not allowed to be ridden on the beach. |
