We understand that planning a wedding is stressful, especially if it’s a destination wedding far away from where you live. No worries. Our wedding services staff can help.
Palmetto Dunes is a popular place for Hilton Head weddings and earlier this year the users of WeddingWire.com voted Palmetto Dunes tops in Hilton Head for both catering and as a wedding/reception venue. Here’s what some of our recent brides have had to say:
Here at Palmetto Dunes, we have any wedding venue you might desire: indoor, outdoor or overlooking the ocean. We built our Dunes House specifically for weddings and other special events, though our resort guests also enjoy it as a beach-side dining destination. You can also choose from the Shelter Cove Pavilion, Center Court Conference Center or even a courtside ceremony at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center.
We’ve planned more weddings than we can count. We know where to find the potential snags and how to deftly skirt them and can connect you with any kind of vendor you might need from getting your marriage certificate to finding a minister. We also have the catering facilities to accommodate any number of guests.
Finally, our goal is make sure you’re relaxed. After all, we’re a resort. It’s what we do. Enjoy some tennis or golf with your bridal party or out of town guests while you’re here, too. With our help, even as the bride, all you’ll have to do is arrive on time. Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort will sweat all of the details and then some.
For us, planning weddings at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island is a piece of cake …wedding cake! Contact us for more information about planning a Hilton Head wedding at Palmetto Dunes.

Relaxing is a rare commodity these days, but a visit to Palmetto Dunes can give it to you in spades. Whether a long bike ride or canoeing through a calm lagoon brings about peace of mind or you’d rather kick back and let someone massage away the stress, we’ve got something for you.
Here at Palmetto Dunes, we offer a number of spa packages for those who are attracted to the relaxation offered by the lure of facials, salt scrubs and massages with a little activity mixed in.
If you’d like to combine romance with your relaxation try one of these two options:
Our Anniversary Celebration package lets you celebrate your years of togetherness with a getaway to the beauty that is Hilton Head Island. Enjoy 7 days and 6 nights in an ocean view villa so you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Take in Hilton Head’s 80 miles of paved bike trails with bike rentals and paddle through our 11-mile saltwater lagoon system by kayak. Unwind with an individual or couples massage, as well as a luxurious facial treatment or therapeutic body scrub. Then get the blood pumping and see if you can best your significant other on the tennis courts.
Or if you’re just beginning your life together, consider a Mini Moon at Palmetto Dunes. Many famous folks like Prince William and Princess Kate are opting to take an abbreviated honeymoon that consists of a long weekend right after the ceremony, saving the longer getaway for later. Our Mini Moon includes 3 nights at the resort, a $100 gift certificate for a romantic dinner, an individual or couples massage, facial treatment or body scrub, one-day bike rental (try pedaling our 3 miles of beach), double kayak rental through the lagoon and two hours of tennis court time daily. Choose to be as active or relaxed as you want with our Mini Moon!
If it’s not a romantic getaway you seek, but just a relaxed adventure, try our Sun ‘N Fun Island Escape Package. It packs in active relaxation and plenty of spa time. The package offers 4 days and 3 nights accommodations, one round of golf per person (don’t stress about your performance, just relax and enjoy the beautiful views!), one day bike rentals, single kayak rentals to explore the lagoon, two hours of tennis time daily, a signature massage at Spa Soleil, facial treatment or body scrub, and as many beautiful views as you can take in!
So however you like to de-stress and relax, we’ll find a way to make it happen here at Palmetto Dunes. Call us at 866.380.1778 to book your getaway.
When you come to Hilton Head, park your car and don’t go back till it’s time to go home. Leave the transportation to us!
Starting April 1, our popular Dunes Buggy is back and ready for the busy season. This free transportation for resort guests travels throughout Palmetto Dunes and Shelter Cove Harbour. That means you can go from the beach to shopping without ever setting foot on your gas pedal.
Destinations include the golf courses, restaurants within the resort, Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center, Hilton Head Outfitters, the General Store, pro shops, Shelter Cove Marina and all the restaurants and shopping within Shelter Cove.
If you need to hitch a ride aboard “the buggy,” call 843-689-4222 and we’ll dispatch on a first-come, first-serve basis usually within about 10 minutes of your call. Give us a little more time during the busy weeks of the Heritage and Fourth of July, please ☺. The Dunes Buggy runs all summer through September.
And lest you be tempted to head to your car, remember we’ve got bikes, kayaks and hey, your own two feet, to get you where you need to go here in Hilton Head. You’ll enjoy the views a lot more and burn off a few calories while you’re at it.
See you soon on the Dunes Buggy!
It’s said that 1 in 5 grooms propose to their wife each holiday season. With all the love and joy in the air between Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and New Year’s, it’s no surprise to us! If you’re one of the lucky couples who’ve decided to head to wedded bliss this holiday season, you might want to consider a Hilton Head wedding as the perfect place to tie the knot.

We enjoyed Marie’s wedding both online and offline!

Many couples dream of a beach wedding with the tide rolling behind them and their toes in the sand. The team at Palmetto Dunes helps that dream come true for many a bride and groom every year. Here’s what many of them had to say about their amazing ceremonies:
Super powers, that is. When we started planning our destination wedding in Hilton Head, we knew it was going to take an extraordinary team to pull it off. Enter our all-star wedding planners - Nicole Guy and Ann Czerniak, assisted by Super Father-of-the-Bride, Brent. These wedding planning superheroes should have been equipped with capes because they made the impossible possible while creating a never-before seen wedding in Palmetto Dunes. Our wedding was monumental. The planning was done, from start to finish, in 4 months. I find this to be an incredible accomplishment, because we were doing it via phone and e-mail from 900 miles away. Nicole understood our vision from the beginning. We love Hilton Head Island, and we wanted to bring our dearest friends and family there to show them exactly why we loved it. A boring ceremony and banquet room reception just didn't fit the bill. Nicole helped us think outside the box and for the first time in Palmetto Dunes history, we were married on the 11th tee box at the Robert Trent Jones golf course, overlooking the ocean. Adding to Palmetto Dunes history was the entrance of the Bride. Accompanied by the William Tell Overture, my dad and I came riding in on SEGWAYS! Nicole helped us get in contact with the right people shout out to Shane! and we pulled off our top secret entrance. Even though the views out on the golf course were incredible, no one in attendance will forget the view of my dad and I bounding in on those crazy machines, in full wedding attire. The reception was, without a doubt, exactly what we envisioned. Our dream was to have a Southern BBQ on a deck overlooking the ocean. And that is exactly what we did. The setting was perfect The Dunes House was all decked out, with our garden lights and heat lamps (early March is cold on the beach!). Leading up to the wedding, Ann worked closely with the chef to make sure we had our ideal Southern BBQ meal, complete with She Crab Soup (as requested by my husband) and Key Lime Pie (for me). My family is still raving about the food, as it is hands down, the BEST wedding meal ever. Ann helped make this an unforgettable night - she even stashed a few biscuits with honey butter on the side for me to take home that night. YUM! The entire staff at Palmetto Dunes helped to create an unforgettable wedding weekend. From arranging the rental houses for both of our families, coordinating the golf outing for the men to the aforementioned Segway training and wedding planning I couldn't find a single complaint. It truly was the wedding of our dreams, and I have Nicole Guy and Ann Czerniak to thank. And a special thanks to Nicole and Ann for dealing with our craziness and humoring the overzealous Father of the Bride. You guys are amazing!
We had such an amazing wedding weekend! Nicole couldn't have been more accommodating and wonderful through the wedding planning process. Enjoy these couple of pictures. I hope everyone has a fabulous experience like my husband and I did!!
Picking the perfect location for your wedding can be the most daunting part of planning. After researching and visiting many wedding venues on Hilton Head Island, we knew instantly that Nicole Guy was honest and sincere in what she and Palmetto Dunes could offer for our wedding day. The moment we saw the Dunes House, we knew that it was the perfect location for a beach ceremony. The Dunes House offered us elegance, yet simplicity which is exactly what we wanted for our special day. Along with the ideal setting, came a ceremony and reception that ran smoothly and seamlessly. Everything was perfectly coordinated on the "day of", Ben and I only had to show up. From the sea oats and linens on the tables to the delightful dinner, everything was wonderfully prepared. Nicole and the staff at Palmetto Dunes provided us with a venue and an experience that surpassed all our dreams of a perfect wedding day.
The best part about a Palmetto Dunes wedding is that you can extend your special day; it isn't over in just one night! We arrived on a Wednesday and left on a Monday (6 days total), and visited with friends and family each day. Most had never been to Hilton Head and fell in love with Palmetto Dunes. Our closest friends stayed with us in a gorgeous rental home just steps away from the Dunes House and my parents stayed in Villamare Villas. Although we live in Chicago, the area's vendors were helpful and reliable while planning and delivered wonderful results. Nicole Guy worked with me as I changed my mind numerous times with the menu, guest count, timeframe, and more. Sometimes, with an outdoor reception, the biggest concern is weather. Have you wondered what you would do if it started raining during your wedding ceremony? It happened to us, but the blissful aftershock of officially tying the knot overcame any feelings of panic as Michael and I boarded the wedding party bus from Holy Family's rainy parking lot to the entrance of Palmetto Dunes. Our skilled photographer John Brackett didn't seem to mind either, as he guided the driver to a PD special spot with the signature Hilton Head Island trees and foliage for a breathtaking backdrop. After photos, we approached the Dunes House to the sound of our steel drum band and party conversation. Our guests delightfully sipped champaign and munched on passed hors d'oeuvres while staying dry inside. As we each took drink and food for ourselves and mingled with our guests, we couldn't help wondering if the rain would stay or leave, but to our delight, the gorgeous rays of sun pushed through. I could hardly believe the outcome when a beautiful rainbow appeared over the ocean! The sky transformed into an amazing palate of blues which translated to beach photos that look magical. Although nature placed us slightly behind schedule, dinner was served as planned outside on the deck. Before long our guests were dancing to the sounds of "The Mighty Kicks" while enjoying the liberating feeling of letting loose under the stars. We were told by many that this was the best wedding they have ever attended! To see a short video clip, go to: http://s808.photobucket.com/albums/zz6/michaelpeck13/?action=view¤t=OUR_WEDDING-011.flv
Planning a Wedding is simultaneously one of the most exciting and most stressful events we have been through. There are so many decisions to make, the most important being where to hold the ceremony. My Wife, Dana had always wanted a beach wedding, and we visited numerous venues on the Southeastern coast. When we came to Palmetto Dunes, we knew we had found our place. The sheer beauty of the resort is captivating, and the Dunes House looked like something that came out of our dreams. Working with our Wedding Coordinator, Nicole Guy, was an absolute pleasure. She made the overwhelming number of decisions that we needed to make a pleasure, and guided us every step of the way. She genuinely cared about our Wedding, and did everything that she could to make sure that it was everything we wanted and more. The ceremony itself was stunning. The setup and decorations that Nicole had prepared were beautiful, and she was there to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. Our reception went into the night, and the moonlight shimmering off of the ocean was right out of a fairly tale. One of the things that surprised us the most about that night was how amazing the food was! Most weddings that we have been to have relatively modest food, but the Chef at Palmetto Dunes prepared one of the best buffet's that we and our guests have ever tasted. From the appetizers to the dessert, it was truly a gourmet meal, and it was a part of our Wedding that we were very proud of. Lastly, it is important to note that Palmetto Dunes made our Wedding affordable. The food, beverages, and the venue were very reasonably priced, and we really felt like we got a great deal. Now that we have been married for almost six months, we look back on our Wedding at Palmetto Dunes as a perfect event. If you are considering Palmetto Dunes to host your special day, there really isn't a better option. Palmetto Dunes was perfect, and we couldn't ask for more.
Thank you for helping make this dream come true. This is the place where I have always felt most at peace with my life and with myself. I feel like I can breathe easier here. -Excerpt from Sarah's vows to Joe
I too thought about the ocean and I thought it was a perfect metaphor for our love. There's incredible beauty and power. There's endless depth and it's a constant reminder to me that no matter how well we know each other, there's so much more out there that we can discover about each other. -Excerpt from Joe's vows to Sarah
Our wedding in Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head, South Carolina was as magical a day as we had dreamed. We had a very personal sunset ceremony with one of the most scenic views imaginable. We highly recommend the staff at Palmetto Dunes Resort. From Nicole Guy's advice on vendors to her comforting words when the weather didn't seem to be cooperating, we couldn't envision planning this most important day without them. We were even able to get a sound technician on the beach to play our Beatles ceremony, Octopus's Garden as the guest were seated, All You Need Is Love for the processional, and The End for our first kiss and end of the ceremony. As you can see from our photo, it was a beautiful, intimate event. We would like to give special thanks to Scott and Francis Moody of Pro Photo, Inc., who were our amazing photographers.
They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. I just think it's an old saying to help brides feel better during a deluge! Nonetheless, we had no choice but to happily embrace our blessings from heaven when the skies opened up on our wedding day at Palmetto Dunes. Part of the reason I chose PD is because the Dunes House and the adjacent covered patio made for a picturesque "Plan B" in case of rain. We're from Chicago and had really hoped for a beach wedding. We were told by all the vendors that it "never" rains on Hilton Head in May. Turns out they were right- except for our wedding day! It absolutely poured buckets: thunder, lightning- you name it! But Nicole Guy was absolutely wonderful the morning of the wedding in shifting everything indoors and making sure we still had the special oceanside wedding we desired. I truly feel that our positive attitudes during the downpour, the loving energy we got from our guests, and Nicole's swift actions moved God to cease the rain precisely when the ceremony ended! It seems no sooner did the minister allow my husband to "kiss the bride" that the rain stopped and the sky turned a beautiful, dreamy dark blue! We were able to take photos outside on the deck and on the beach- our photographer loved the post-storm sky and said it was much better than having bright sun. Our dinner was still indoors and featured the simple elegance and intimacy the Dunes House offers; the food was delicious and the decor was wonderful. We enjoyed drinks and dancing outside, and we look back on our rainy wedding day as absolutely perfect! Our thanks to Nicole and Palmetto Dunes- even with the rain you gave us a dream wedding we'll never forget!
Our wedding at Palmetto Dunes was absolutely wonderful. Everything, and I mean everything, went off without a hitch thanks to Nicole Guy's magic. She was so easy to work with, and made planning, even from a distance, so easy. The wedding turned out to be exactly the vibe we were going for, outdoors, casual, fun and most importantly affordable. I would HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who is planning a wedding. For more of our wedding pictures, feel free to check out www.dilandgreg.shutterfly.com
I had always imagined what my wedding would be like growing up. I knew that I wanted an intimate wedding on the beach with my family and closest friends. That is exactly what Nicole Guy & Palmetto Dunes helped us do. With only six weeks to plan our wedding we decided on Hilton Head and drove down in late January to plan. I had set up quite a few appointments with different venues to pick the perfect place for what was going to be one of the greatest days of our lives. It took only 20 minutes with Nicole to know that we had found the perfect spot and that she would make the planning process as easy and stress free as possible! I cancelled all our other meetings and knew that the Dunes House was going to be our venue! We rented a beautiful house at 1 Sea Lane for ourselves and our wedding party. All our other guests and family also rented various properties in the resort. I was able to plan our entire wedding in six weeks via email with Nicole and she made it so easy. The day of our wedding was extremely windy but she assured me not to worry and that she would take care of everything! The ceremony was flawless down to every last detail....The Dunes House looked beautiful, drinks were flowing and the food was AMAZING!!! Our band Chris & Christian had our guests up and dancing the night away. Our family & friends still talk about our wedding and claim it to be the best they have ever been to. Thank you Nicole & Palmetto Dunes for giving Charlie & I the best wedding we could of asked for! We loved the resort so much that we returned to Hilton Head between Christmas & New Years and stayed at Palmetto Dunes again. It will always be the only place I will stay when we come back down to vacation!!! Look forward to many great years to come at Palmetto Dunes!
There are few things that someone looks forward to for their entire life, you plan and hope to one day have the magical wedding of your dreams. We had always known that a unique wedding was what we wanted. As we began our search for the perfect location we found that an exclusive island like Hilton Head was exactly the spot we had in mind. Palmetto Dunes is the only place that could offer us what we wanted, a place to get married with our toes in the sand, somewhere that was secluded and would not have other resort guests walking through the wedding, and somewhere that could offer us a full weekend of fun for us and our guests. We accomplished everything for the wedding over the phone and through e-mails with Nicole and the entire Palmetto Dunes staff. Our families were located all over the resort; some were at a gorgeous house at 1 Sea Lane where we held our rehearsal dinner, others were stationed at the Marriott Hotel on property and even more were in other various houses and villas on site. We chose a risky time to have the wedding as it was hurricane season but we knew it would be worth it in the end and we were very comfortable with the other two alternative options that Palmetto Dunes had for us. As we had our rehearsal it was raining as it had been for the few days before the wedding. Hurricane Danny was on the approach, he was expected to hit either the day before or the day of the wedding but only in the upper part of North Carolina so we were expecting only residual rain. The morning of the wedding it was rainy and gloomy as Danny was out on the horizon. At around 4:30pm, just in time for our 5:30pm wedding the clouds cleared and the sun came out, we had an absolutely picture perfect wedding and reception. The sunset was spectacular and provided a once in a lifetime backdrop for our event. Our family and friends have been talking about the wedding for months and we have even received phone calls from our guests thanking us for inviting them to our wedding! It truly was a lucky day and the most memorable day for everyone in attendance. Palmetto Dunes will hold a special place in our lives and our hearts for the rest of our lives and we will be back to visit as often as possible.
Every girl has their dream, their dream of the perfect wedding with Prince Charming waiting at the end of the aisle. That was my dream as well but it had to involve sand under my feet and the sound of waves crashing as I said, "I Do!" I had little to no idea how to make all of my dreams come true, but after one email to Nicole Guy of Palmetto Dunes, things started to fall into place. Nicole and Ann helped make October 10th, 2009, something my husband, guests, family and I will never, ever forget. I was able to rent a house for the weekend in the resort that accomodated my entire wedding party and their significant others. Anyone can say they had fun with their wedding party during their wedding day, the wedding party that are your closest friends and family, but can you say you spent an entire fun-packed weekend together at the beach? We kicked off the wedding weekend with an Oyster Roast for all of our wedding guests in the backyard of 3 Catboat. It was nothing short of amazing. The food catered by Palmetto Dunes was wonderful and Nicole was there for all of my needs, including a piece of chalk she hunted down for me. My wedding day came and Ann was at my house all day, making sure every last detail was taken care of, including centerpieces that she had to bring to the reception site in the back of a truck going 5 miles an hour on 278! Nicole picked me up in my white dress and drove me to my wedding and Ann was there waiting, holding my dress until I walked down the aisle, sand in my feet to my prince. The cocktail hour and reception were a blast, enough of a blast that 6, yes 6, people who saw the party tried to attend without an invitation. Who can say their party was so great that they had wedding crashers? 130 guests are still talking about the Oyster Roast, wedding and reception. What am I up to these days? I am calling my friends, Nicole and Ann, and telling them about the baby that is on the way for Chris and I on July 24th. If I were to say anything, I would say that Nicole Guy helped me in any way she possibly could. She went above and beyond for me in every way. She did so much more for my wedding than she had to. She did it because she is great at it, she runs amazing weddings and she wants her brides' dreams to come true. She made every one of my ideas, thoughts and plans come to life. I couldn't have picked a more amazing place to get married than Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head. Now I look forward to bringing our little one back to Palmetto Dunes so they can feel the sand in their feet and the sound of the waves crashing in their ears that will hopefully help to form their own dreams.
We can't say enough about the wonderful job done by Nicole Guy and the Palmetto Dunes staff! We looked all over Hilton Head Island for the perfect location for our destination wedding, and Palmetto Dunes had the most beautiful and well cared for homes around. Nicole was able to help us put together the relaxed celebration that we dreamed of but didn't have the experience to plan. With the help of the Palmetto Dunes team we were able to enjoy the time with our friends and family rather than stressing out. And the food was amazing! Chris put together a dream menu that had everybody coming back for more. In fact, Nicole was even able to share one of the appetizer recipes with us so we could incorporate it into our first Thanksgiving dinner as a married couple. Palmetto Dunes treated us like family every step of the way. When we needed to make last minute changes to our honeymoon plans, they arranged for us to return to the home where we were married. It was a dream wedding and perfect honeymoon, and it was all spent at Palmetto Dunes!
Palmetto Dunes recognizes the importance of incorporating what's important to you on your special day. They take the time to talk through all the details and really get to know what will make your day just right. For example, Nicole Guy suggested a raw bar during the cocktail hour, which was a hit with our family and friends. We planned to spend the day helping set up for the event, but upon our arrival Nicole sent us on our way as she was taking care of it for us. She even offered to help me adjust my wedding dress just before the walk down the beach. Thank goodness for Palmetto Dunes and Nicole!
I contacted Nicole at Palmetto Dunes Catering and Events seeking to plan a destination beach wedding at the Dunes House that would be simple and care free. Our goal was to never lose the true reason of why we were planning this event and desired to seek minimal input from family and friends as to how we coordinated our special day. Nicole and I managed to pull off an amazing and breathtaking wedding for me and my fiance from afar in less than 4 months and in budget! When I say care free I was not exaggerating either. My fiance and I managed to incorporate a 60-person wedding during the week his family had planned to simply visit Hilton Head Island for a week's worth of vacation. With Nicole's help we managed to surprise my fiance's family of 33 the week of with a wedding they have yet to forget and also get the 30 friends and family from my side down to HHI at the same time. We can't say enough about how Nicole and her staff managed for us additional accommodation, vendor recommendations, the catering, and small decorating touches that made this wedding many of our friends favorite wedding to date.
On October 31st, 2009 (yes, Halloween) my husband and I got married at the Dunes House in Palmetto Dunes. We live near Charlotte, NC, so naturally I was a little concerned when we decided to plan a destination wedding. We had been to Hilton Head together many times, but never thought about planning a wedding, vendors to use, etc. Fortunately, Palmetto Dunes (specifically Ann and Nicole) were there to help! They made the process seamless and easy! We rented a beautiful house with some close friends, played golf at the fabulous Robert Trent Jones course and, most importantly, got to share our special weekend with the ones we love in Hilton Head. We had PERFECT weather (a warm 80 degrees in October, not a cloud in the sky and a slight breeze). Overall, I can honestly say Palmetto Dunes gave my husband and I our dream wedding on the beach! We couldn't have been happier and can't wait to come back to visit the place where we started our lives together!
