Whether it's biking, kayaking or nature tours, your headquarters for adventure is Palmetto Dunes Outfitters, Hilton Head Island's full-service sporting emporium.

Guests may rent kayaks or canoes to explore the 11-mile saltwater lagoon system of calm waterways bordering the resort's three golf courses. Never handled a kayak? No problem. Guides will provide full instruction.

Fly rods and light tackle are available for anglers who want to try their luck with the large redfish, trout, bluefish, flounder and black drum in the lagoon system. For those who prefer the beach, stop by Palmetto Dunes Outfitters for beach chairs, loungers, umbrellas and coolers. Strollers and beach joggers are available for families with young children. Surfboards and swim boards are available for rent by the day or week.

With its fleet of 1,500 new bikes, P.D. Outfitters will select the ideal bike for on-road or on-beach use. The shop has bikes for riders of all sizes - from small children to adults. Adult tandems and three-wheelers also are available.
