Nothing beats a private lesson

The Academy presents a daily golf clinic at the Robert Trent Jones Course, featuring special instruction on the stroke of the day. With a student-instructor ratio of 6:1, you can be sure to get the individual attention you need from one of Hilton Head’s leading golf pros. The Daily Clinic is for golfers 12 and older.

Description: This school is a definite asset for golfers of all levels, from beginners through advanced student. Each student receives individual attention thanks to a student-instructor ratio of 6:1. Instructors covers putting, chipping, pitching and full swing. Reservations Required.
Short Game School I

Cost: $99 per person
Description: Open to beginners and advanced players. Some 65% of every golfer's game takes place within 60 yards of the pin. Learn how the professionals achieve low scores through creativity, strategy and playing the percentage shots around the greens. This is a "fun" school that will enhance your golf-scoring ability by 10%! Student-Instructor ratio of 6:1. Reservations Required.
Short Game School II

Where: Arthur Hills Course
Cost: $99 per person
Eligibility: Must have completed Back to Basics, Short Game School - I, Ladies Only I or II, or a private lesson.
Description: This lesson, taught on the golf course, gives students an opportunity to learn to play from 100 yards out in the same way the professionals do. Students will learn how to save strokes by playing off the cart path, pine straw, mulch and side-hill lies. They will also learn how to conquer fairway bunkers and make over-the-water shots. Expert instruction prepares each golfer to overcome the most challenging obstacles and enjoy golf more. Reservations Required.

Description: The small group 4:1 student:teacher ratio promotes important quality attention. Skill levels can be mixed and the instructor is able to meet the unique needs of each individual. The school is ideal for those who want to plan other resort activities while here. Scheduling is flexible, allowing for personal demands or side trips. The school covers all areas of the golf game and has time for your special needs and requests. The questionnaire you fill out before you arrive allows time to be used most efficiently. The Three-Day School is very popular because of the extra time built into the program to process what students learn during the instructional periods. The itinerary is designed around a questionnaire completed by the student before the first class begins. A testing process on the first day of instruction helps to supplement information obtained from the questionnaire. Improvement begins immediately - students begin to see instant results from the coaching of gracious and patient PGA professionals. On the course, instructors share strategies for successful course management that correspond to each golfer's game. They also employ encouragement and repetitive practice principles to help build confidence.
The Tour Treatment
Length: Three days, six hours of instruction per day

Doug Weaver, PGA Teacher of the Year for North and South Carolina, Director of instruction at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, developed The Tour Treatment School curriculum and serves as the instructor. Weaver is well versed in the "Red Carpet" treatment afforded touring professional golfers, having played in PGA Tour events from 1989 to 2002. Golf requires refining the total person. The mind, body, and spirit will be nourished and activated to promote excellent golf in 2020.
The Tour Treatment School encompasses:
- A three-day course of instruction, total of 12 hours
- Additional two hours of attention focused daily on the golfer's mind and body
- Students are asked to complete a questionnaire
- Mental Golf Workshop personality profile before beginning classes. Tour players use this profile.
- Massage before and stretching 30 minutes {3 days} Lava Fitness Center
- Gears Golf 3D Swing Analysis

Advanced Junior Classes
Play with the Pro and get instruction as you go! Start with a supervised warm up, followed by a round with the Professional. Take home notes and a lower score.
Ages: 8-18 (not for beginner skill level)

Junior Clinics - "Fun, Friends and Fresh Air"
Enjoy instruction and games focusing on mastering the fundamentals of all golf shots, etiquette and rules. Three shots covered daily. Learn something new everyday and build your personal golf instruction manual. Attend 4 times and receive a Junior Golf School Manual. $30.00 per clinic. 6:1 Student-Teacher ratio, no minimum. Reservations required. For ages 8 - 18 years old.

Little Swingers (offered seasonally)
Learn fundamentals of golf while singing songs causing amazing retention and success. 4:1 ratio, parent support required.

Juniors, ages 10 and under, when accompanied by an adult paying a regular rate can play for no charge - after 4pm only at Jones, Hills and Fazio.
*No other discounts, promotions or specials may be used with the junior discount. One full paying adult and one junior or two juniors will be treated as one adult and one junior.
Junior Tees/ Instruction
Permanent Junior Tees are a feature of the newly redesigned Robert Trent Jones course. Private instruction is available from our PGA Professionals. The highly-rated George Fazio course also caters to juniors with markings of 150 yards or less on the course and year round instruction from Head Professional Samm Wolfe and his team of PGA Professionals.
Parents Night Out

This fun, low-stress learning program starts with a supervised warm up. The instructor works with each golfer, providing training on all the basic shots and offering the support each student needs to learn the mechanics. The group then moves to 30 minutes of supervised play on the course where each player learns game management strategies to fit her game. Instructors are patient, gracious and capable of teaching each student how to enjoy the game of golf.

My new favorite golf pro....Doug Weaver!
Was lucky to find Doug last November for lessons....I was so impressed with him I'm still taking weekly lessons. He has helped me slow my swing, engage my hips and stop trying to kill the ball! Last week I shot my best round ever. Feeling very encouraged!
Outstanding Golf Academy
We drove south from Washington DC to Palmetto Dunes just to attend Doug Weaver’s 3-day golf academy: it was well worth the time and effort! Doug is an outstanding and very patient golf instructor. This was truly a once in a lifetime learning experience. Additionally, my wife and I feel we have a new friend and a coach for life! We will return!
We visited Hilton Head for a week and spent 70% of our time playing golf. By far the best experience was playing the Palmetto Dunes courses. This positive experience was highlighted by the golf clinics at PD in which my wife and I took lessons or attended the daily clinics. Over our 6 days we took lessons with Doug Weaver, Ed Brill and Edward Sires. Each instructor was fantastic with exceptional teaching skills and each worked with us individually and in groups. The clinics focused on a range of skill sets but they would tailor to the groups ability and/or a persons area of focus. Bottom line is very affordable pricing for highly experienced instruction tailored to both mine and my wife’s needs. My wife who has just started playing golf raved about the ladies clinic. Thanks to Doug, Ed and Edward, we’ll certainly be back.
