HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Locals and visitors to Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina can now enjoy fresh European breads, pastries and desserts at the mid-island marina waterfront setting located across from Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, offering dining, shopping and entertainment. Opened in September, Hilton Head Social Bakery is the latest addition to the gourmet dining options at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina.
Run by Chef Philippe Feret, who recently moved to Hilton Head Island after running his own restaurant on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the bakery will offer American-style baked goods with a French flair. Everything is made on site with TVs inside showing the baked goods being made live in the kitchen. The interior features decor from a disassembled a barn from the mid-1800s in upstate New York and outdoor seating offers views of Broad Creek. Items available include croissants, tarts, eclairs, turnovers, crepes, breads and more.
Chef Feret grew up working at his parent’s bakery in France and moved to the U.S. 30 years ago, working at establishments like Taillevent in Paris, and Windows on the World and Tavern on the Green in New York City.
Hilton Head Social Bakery joins a variety of high-end restaurants at Shelter Cove Harbour many serving international dishes, including San Miguel’s Mexican Cafe, Mediterranean Harbour Bar & Grille, ELA’s Blu Water Grille, Bistro 17 serving French cuisine, Bucci’s Italian Cuisine and Scott’s Fish Market.
Located at 17 Harbourside Lane, Suite G, between Scott’s Fish Market and Bistro 17, Hilton Head Social Bakery is open 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. For more information, call (843) 715-3349 or follow the bakery on Facebook at HiltonHeadBakery.
