Press Releases

SPECIAL MEDIA ADVISORY: Hilton Head Island’s Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina prepares for blockbuster July 4th celebration including music, family fun and the island’s biggest fireworks show.

Note the attached July 4th Fireworks Shuttle map for Shelter Cove Harbor & Marina.

To ensure safe and smooth entry and exit from the event for the July 4th blockbuster celebration, Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina also offers a free Shuttle from 5:00-11:00 pm at two alternative parking lots — one north of Shelter Cove at Chaplin Park and one at the Hargray building — for attendees to be shuttled to the HarbourFest events. Parking is free at these lots, with several shuttles running continuously from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. For a map and other shuttle information click here.

The July 4th and all other HarbourFest fireworks show are produced by new partner Falcon Fireworks, a 25-year-old pyrotechnics company based near Savannah, Ga. Falcon Fireworks has produced many pyrotechnic shows up and down the East Coast — including more than 40 shows on July 4th alone. They have upgraded the HarbourFest show, making the fireworks more visible and incorporating a variety of unique firing techniques with an increased quality and quantity of shells.

Before fireworks light up the night sky over Broad Creek at dusk, beloved entertainer and musician Shannon Tanner will perform not-to-miss shows at both 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4th, so get your dancing shoes on and your singing voice ready to enjoy songs like “My Hair Had a Party Last Night” and “Purple People Eater.”

To further celebrate Independence Day, American flags will be distributed at 5:00 pm to the first 1,000 people who arrive by the King Neptune statue at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina.

Other family entertainment will be provided by Cappy the Clown from 6:00-9:00 p.m., with face painting, hair braiding, balloon animals, sand art, and a variety of interactive games and activities, such as:

§ Bouncy houses

§ Train rides

§ Wax Hands

§ Glitter Tattoos

§ Steel the Drum – Melvin Dean

§ Nightly entertainment at restaurants

§ Additional vendors set-up: Frosty’s Italian Ice, Dunes Real Estate, Treasure Island, Small Pickens (handmade soaps and Lularoe clothing), Hilton Head Rum Cakes, Little Fish BOATEAK (jewelry), The Mermaid of Hilton Head, Palmetto Dunes Resort Golf & Activities Tent
