The days are getting warmer and longer here on Hilton Head Island as Spring, and with it, wedding season, fast approaches. While our wedding specialists can’t wait to watch their couples take their vows this year, we’re also already thinking head to 2021! Whether you got engaged over Valentine’s Day, or are just starting with your wedding plans, our experts are here to make your Lowcountry wedding dreams come true!

Spring/summer is traditionally “high season” for weddings, however, we’re just as partial to the calmer, cooler months for intimate ceremonies and receptions without the crowds—and the cost. Here are some reasons why a winter wedding can be just as wonderful on Hilton Head Island.

Increased Availability

We love Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort in the summertime—and so does everybody else! Score the wedding location of your dreams and the perfect vacation rental to go with it without having to work around someone else’s schedule. You’re much more likely to get the date you want if you’re aiming for off-season.

Better Savings

Not only do you get to save with a winter wedding, but so do your guests! Flights can be more cost-effective as are nightly rental rates and hotel rooms. Your loved ones will be able to join you for your special day without stressing about their bank balances.

You can even save money on your ceremony! Be sure to check out any current Wedding Packages or Offers for any off season deals. Plan a quaint beachside ceremony and brunch reception at The Dunes House. Begin with a beach ceremony on the white sands of the beautiful beach located in front of The Dunes House, followed by a decadent buffet brunch complete with unlimited mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, and non-alcoholic beverages catered by the talented chefs at Palmetto Dunes.

From classic options like Quiche Lorraine and made-to-order omelets, to some Southern touches like Old Bay potatoes with Tennessee sausage, you and your guests will be able to dine to your hearts’—and stomachs’—content and enjoy the comfort of the dining tables and chairs and quality linens, as well as the warmth of propane patio heaters all included with your Dunes House rental rate. It’s a superbly simple and civilized way to celebrate.

Peace and Quiet

Another wonderful thing about a winter wedding is the privacy you’ll feel. Unlike the popular summer months, winter’s smaller crowds mean that you’ll feel like the beach is all your own! Take over a restaurant for your rehearsal dinner or rule the roads on your bicycle built for two.
