HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Oct. 5, 2021) – Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort has been recognized as the No. 14 “Best Resort in the South,” according to Condé Nast Traveler’s results of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards.
Palmetto Dunes was the highest ranked resort on Hilton Head Island, and ranked ahead of other popular southern enclaves such as The Greenbrier (No. 16), The Omni Grove Park Inn (No. 18) and The Omni Homestead Resort (No. 20) in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2021 rankings. The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the travel industry’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence.
Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort — which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018 — is located in the heart of Hilton Head Island, S.C., along three miles of Atlantic Ocean beach on one side and an Intracoastal Waterway marina on the other. The resort boasts a trio of championship golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Arthur Hills and George Fazio, an award-winning Tennis and Pickleball Center, and countless other family friendly amenities.
More than 800,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers across the globe submitted tens of thousands of ratings and comments, sharing their recent travel experiences of the world’s top hotels, resorts, cities, countries, islands, spas, trains, car rentals, luggage, airlines, airports, and cruises. The results of the 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards demonstrate the travel experiences the publication’s readers longed for most when they couldn’t travel and decided to do first once they could. This year’s awards reflect the ways the world of travel has begun to welcome back guests.
“Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort is honored by this recognition from such a prestigious media outlet, as well as the travelers around the world who rate the resorts,” said Brad Marra, Palmetto Dunes Chief Operating Officer. “We have always believed in serving our guests to the highest standards, and we appreciate recognition of our efforts from our customers and from the media.”
The 2021 Readers' Choice Awards are published on Condé Nast Traveler's website at www.cntraveler.com/rca and celebrated in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler US and UK print editions.
