Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island, S.C., is pleased to announce several recent employee hirings and personnel transitions.

Stephen Arnold is now general manager of the Palmetto Dunes General Store. Originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, Arnold started coming to Hilton Head Island in college, working in food and beverage during school breaks. Having studied sports administration at the University of Louisville, he joined the Palmetto Dunes team as a Golf Assistant upon moving to the area full time in 2008. He was promoted to RTJ General Manager in 2018.  In the past few years, Stephen has helped implement important goals including enhancing customer service levels, helping with the introduction of the Toptracer Range and more.

Mason Lemon has joined the Palmetto Dunes team as the new Harbourmaster of Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina recently. Lemon has returned to the island after spending some time overseeing a multi-marina operation up north.  He is well familiar with SCH&M because he used to work there during his high school and college days. Lemon is a graduate of Clemson University.

Ashly Olson has joined the staff as Palmetto Dunes Merchandise Manager. She has nine years of experience in retail buying, specifically in the golf industry. Originally from Texas, Olson relocated to Hilton Head Island from Florida, where she first served as Merchandise Manager for PGA properties, and then most recently at The Club at Grandezza, a private club on the west coast of Florida. She attended Texas Tech University, where she studied fashion merchandising/retail management and hospitality.

Ryan Broce has been promoted to Golf Grilles Manager. He has been part of the Palmetto Dunes team since 2017, when he worked at Alexander’s as a server and bartender, and worked his way up to Assistant Restaurant Manager in 2019.

Greg Weppner is the new general manager at Alexander’s Restaurant & Wine Bar. Weppner has more than 10 years of leadership experience in restaurants including some multi-outlet operations, and he has been around the Hilton Head area for the past two decades. He attended the University of South Carolina-Columbia, as well as the University of North Alabama.

Honey Treacy has returned to Palmetto Dunes as Alexander’s Assistant Restaurant Manager. While she is originally from the Chicago area, Hilton Head was her vacation home. After coming to the island 38 years ago, just for the summer, she landed her first job on the island at Alexander’s. She has worked various roles on the island including supervising the golf grilles at Palmetto Dunes, and she was most recently at The Westin.

Eric Filson is the new Robert Trent Jones Golf Course Superintendent. He joined the Palmetto Dunes team as Assistant Superintendent in February 2020 and has a background in golf course operations with more than 15 years of experience.

Dana Nicholas has joined the team as Palmetto Dunes Property Manager. Originally from New York, Nicholas came to the Lowcountry with her family. She studied hospitality and tourism at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort. Prior to accepting her position with Palmetto Dunes, Nicholas was in the short-term vacation rental industry for 16 years, starting in reservations and moving into property management five years ago.
