Hilton Head Island’s Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina prepares for post-pandemic July 4th celebration including music, family fun and the island’s biggest fireworks show.

Important information regarding shuttle service for the 4th of July HarbourFest Fireworks show.
To ensure safe and smooth entry and exit from the event for the July 4th celebration, Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina offers a free Shuttle from 5:30-10:30 pm at two alternative parking lots — one north of Shelter Cove at Chaplin Park and one at the Hargray building — for attendees to be shuttled to the HarbourFest events. Parking is free at these lots, with several shuttles running continuously from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm. View shuttle map here.
DIRECTIONS TO PARKING:
• From South End & Sea Pines Circle please use LOT A (Hargray building)
• From the North End turn onto Singleton Beach Road to park at LOT B (Chaplin Park)
Bike or walk to avoid parking & traffic problems (use pedestrian underpass).
ATTENTION! For your safety, anyone walking or biking from Palmetto Dunes on July 4th over to Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina must utilize the pedestrian underpass that passes underneath Hwy 278. The bridge is located near the entrance to Palmetto Dunes (on the right side of the road if you are exiting) and is connected to the bike path.
Before fireworks light up the night sky over Broad Creek at dusk, beloved entertainer and musician Shannon Tanner will perform special patriotic shows and family-favorite songs at both 6:30 and 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 4th. American flags and paddle fans will be distributed while supplies last.
Other family entertainment will be provided by Cappy the Clown from 6:00-9:00 pm, with face painting, balloon animals, sand art, glitter tattoos and a variety of interactive games and activities.
The July 4th and all other HarbourFest fireworks shows are produced by Falcon Fireworks, a 25-year-old pyrotechnics company based near Savannah, Ga. Falcon Fireworks has produced many pyrotechnic shows up and down the East Coast — including more than 40 shows on July 4th alone. They have upgraded the HarbourFest show, making the fireworks more visible and incorporating a variety of unique firing techniques with an increased quality and quantity of shells.
The July 4th HarbourFest celebration is free and open to the public. Food and drinks are available for purchase. No coolers please. Events are weather permitting and subject to change.
